I was born and raised in Malad City, Idaho. The 9th of 12 children born to two music teachers. Early on we learned the value of hard work for what we wanted. I graduated from Malad High in 2005 and had the opportunity to serve an LDS mission to Auckland, New Zealand speaking Samoan.
After I returned home, I was blessed to marry my high school sweetheart, Shannon. I have two older brothers that were in Law Enforcement in Box Elder and I have always wanted to work in this field.
In 2011 I was hired at the Millard County Sheriff's Office. When my wife and I moved here, it was amazing how familiar it felt to live here and we have loved getting to know the amazing people in this county. Our four daughters were born here and have made this our home.
I have subsequently had opportunities to serve in patrol, investigations and throughout my career as an instructor for this agency.
In late 2021 I was appointed as Chief Deputy by Sheriff Jacobson and have greatly valued my time working with him and the experience I have gained in knowing what it takes to keep the Sheriff's Office going. I have acted as Sheriff in his absence or when he is unavailable.
Running for Sheriff has been a new experience, but doing the job of a Sheriff is not new to me.
In my 15 years serving with the Sheriff's Office, I have seen time and time again how the woes of urban living have crept their way into our peaceful communities. Modern technologies and major highways have been one of the main contributing factors to this.
I have seen our amazing deputies face these challenges time and time again and it takes diligent effort and foresight to continue to meet these challenges.
For the last four years, I have served as Chief Deputy, working side-by-side with the Sheriff in running the Sheriff's Office. I have experience in what it takes to make this office better and I am committed to continuing our efforts to serve you better.
It has been my honor to serve this great county, and I commit to give my best in this endeavor.
Thank you for all the support!
